We are directed by The Earl of Aberdeen to transmit to you, for the information of Lord Stanley, a Copy of a Despatch which His Lordship has addressed to Sir Henry Pottinger, inclosing a Copy of a Letter from the Treasury stating with reference to certain Regulations promulgated by Sir Henry Pottinger on the 24th of March and 27th of April 1842, respecting the circulating Medium at Hongkong, that it is desirable that Sir Henry Pottinger should be instructed to issue no further regulations on the same matter without the previous
